Before the 360 had their price cut wave, the ps3 was beating them all over the world. Keep in mind the 360 was always the least expensive system by more than $100 dollars even before the price cut.
Yes, most of society WANTS playstation 3. But the ONLY thing holding them back is price. Once the price gets close to the 360's, the fight will be over. And if they ever have the same price as the 360, those sales will explode.
First off, majority of blu ray players are poised to go sub $200 (not just that crappy samsung model)
With Black Friday coming up, people are going to go crazy over blu rays. Even the ps3 is gonna get a chunk of that. Just remember how many Hd DVD players sold on black friday last year. Granted, they were selling for $50. But with blu ray being the ONLY HD standard now, they're gonna skyrocket those sales like you wouldn't believe
